Description: First annual bicycle ride on the Silver Comet Trail to fundraise and raise awareness about human trafficking. Interested persons may register online to ride and/or sponsor a rider. Proceeds benefit the awareness work of "Freedom to Thrive" around the Southeast and scholarships for the “Escape 2010” European trafficking convention in Moldova. Our 3-5 year goal is to augment and build aftercare facilities and resources to serve victims of human trafficking in the southeastern United States. Trafficking in persons involves the use of force and deception to sell humans into slavery and bondage, particularly in prostitution. Millions of people are victims of human trafficking. Although victims are forced to work for no pay, billions of dollars are generated in profits by the perpetrators. This form of injustice is a horrific example of man’s inhumanity towards man. Through this event, we desire to deliver the message about God's hope in a dark world!
