How much time is spent "at the court house" to get this decree varies from case to case. Many parties will hire attorneys for legal counsel and related representation, including assisting with the negotiating the terms of the separation and divorce through the litigation process and mediation. Other couples use pre-filing mediation or otherwise work out the terms of their divorce in order to file an uncontested divorce.
